Before I Share the Tea, You Should Understand My Perspective.

WHAT IS HOLISTIC MEDICINE?

THE PRACTICE OF HOLISTIC MEDICINE CENTERS ON HAVING ALIGNMENT IN ALL ELEMENTS OF LIFE SO THAT YOUR BODY CAN HEAL ITSELF.

The primary focus is preventing illness through healthy lifestyle choices, quickly recognizing unusual symptoms, and treating disease at the source.

all of These Dimensions are Examined in holistic care.

Often referred to as alternative medicine, holistic practice differs from western medicine because its practitioners do not look to drug therapy or surgery as a first resort. Herbal supplementation, intentional movement, and mindful activities are used instead. Consistent mindful activity can reduce stress, limit chronic disease, and lead to overall healthier decisions.

The “placebo effect” is commonly written off as a fluke in scientific study, but actually confirms that your mindset impacts your recovery from illness. The holistic perspective maintains that a prognosis is a prediction, not a final verdict. What you believe about your ability to heal is important, and will direct your internal energy accordingly.

WHAT IS INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE?

INTEGRATIVE PRACTICE BLENDS COMPONENTS OF HOLISTIC AND WESTERN MEDICINE SO THAT THEY CAN BE USED IN BALANCE.

All preventative measures and treatment options are evaluated and coordinated for what will benefit you the most. This perspective is most similar to complementary medicine but takes the management of your care a step further.

Integrative Practitioners Come From a Variety of Wellness - Related Backgrounds.

Integrative medicine is more personalized than conventional medicine and encourages you to share in decision-making. Practitioners often practice mindfulness themselves and will explore all aspects of your lifestyle and habits to provide the best guidance for you.

For example, your integrative health team could include a conventional physician, a psychotherapist, a pharmacist, and a yoga instructor. Your team would coordinate your care according to the goals you set together. While these goals are important, you should remain present and engaged in the daily process. This allows you time to fully digest information as it comes as well as make adjustments when necessary.

Integrative Evaluations Take Conventional and Holistic Benchmarks Into Account.

Safety is a large focus of integrative medicine. Many holistic therapies have limited evidence of use and have to be thoroughly researched before they are used with conventional treatments.

Integrative specialists have studied the scientifically proven benefits and risks of different holistic treatments. Practitioners come from many fields including physicians, nurses, massage therapists, and acupuncturists.

WHAT IS HOLISTIC PHARMACY? THEE HPT PERSPECTIVE.

AS A HOLISTIC PHARMACIST, I EMPHASIZE MINDFULNESS, IMMUNE HEALTH, AND LIFESTYLE CHANGES TO PREVENT DISEASE.

Herbs, liquids, and oral medication.

A pharmacist is a medication expert who is trained to manage disease treatment and symptoms with various drug therapies.

I advocate for treating illness at the source as organically as possible before moving on to more conventional options. I do not promote miracle cures, magical pills, or quick fixes.

As an integrative pharmacy specialist, I sort through the confusion of package labels (medication, nutrition, and ingredients) to provide clear, evidence-based guidance for you to consider. Natural does not mean neutral. Many supplement brands are not tested or standardized during manufacturing. Herbal supplements also have side effects, trigger allergic reactions, and have interactions with conventional medications as well as other herbal products.

Your Healthcare Should Be a Conversation with Your Wellbeing at the Center.

As a Black woman who has experienced the American healthcare system from many different angles, I understand how health disparities affect underserved communities. Factual information is needed to advocate for yourself in medical situations.

I want to help you make practical changes to your habits so that you are actually living your best life in every capacity. In pharmacy, a small adjustment can make a big difference. The same concept can be applied to your lifestyle.
